FAQ

How many classes should I attend each week?

We understand that kids are busy these days.  Family and friends, sports, music lessons, and on and on...

Most kids come to class twice a week, but they can attend all three classes offered for the same low price.

Will Martial Arts make my child overly aggressive?

No. In fact, quite the opposite!

Children are often exposed to large amounts of simulated and real violence through video games, television, movies, and the internet.  According to David Grossman, "Violent video games teach children to kill by rewarding violent behavior,

which can lead to desensitization to real-world violence.

At the Shuhari Dojo, we teach students practical and effective techniques to defuse situations before they escalate to violence. We also focus on awareness and escape techniques to help them move to safety. If your child encounters an aggressive situation that cannot be resolved peacefully or escaped from, they will have the basic martial arts skills to defend themselves
